Sometimes you just have to make a stand.

I try not to buy processed soy products. Soy bean farming is destroying the Amazon. The rich crooks who stole the land from native farmers have a lot to answer for. Google it and I challenge you not to be at least a little ashamed to be part of the human race.

So what has this to do with saving money?

Well, not saving the Amazon is going to cost us all, but processed soy products are like paying good money for less of something.

These days supermarkets have the word soy written on products all over the place. And you thought you were doing your body a favour? Not so. All the real goodness of the plant has been stripped out. Once again, google it:

http://www.naturalnews.com/027880_soy_products_milk.html (for example)

I get angry with this constant shortchanging and addition of non-foods in our diet. Excess sugar and salt in everything. Don’t you?

Unprocessed soy is a different matter entirely.

Those poor farmers have had their land stolen from them and we lose the Amazon. And I thought the loggers were bad…

OK. You can read anything on the internet and believe it’s true. In the end, it’s up to you.

But just google “vitamins waste of money” and get what is surely the real picture.

Vitamins? Seriously? Do you have a bottle of vitamins pills at home? Must be one of the biggest scams of all time.

Put it this way. You’ve been to a doctor before – how many times has s/he prescribed vitamins? Is your doctor really that bad?

It’s like everyone is eating more but taking out insurance against eating less. Duh!

It’s your choice, but really, all you are doing is paying other people’s tax for them (think about it).

You have LESS chance of being hit by lightning. How often is that going to happen IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE let alone this Thursday?

In fact, you ARE being hit by “lightening” your wallet!

OK. If it gives you a little lift in life, go ahead. But you are better off betting on the horses.

You’ll still lose in the long run, but you’ll have plenty of laughs and wins with your losses. And lots of things to try.

Don’t bet what you can’t afford to lose, because like my husband, you WILL lose at the races over time. If that wasn’t the case, bookmakers would have become extinct centuries ago.

Poker machines? You’re kidding right? Put good money in – take less money out. Over and over and over again. Not for me.

One lottery thing I do, though, is buy scratch tickets for friends in hospital. Better than grapes. Every morning for a week or so after your visit they have another scratch. Keeps them looking forward to another day in hospital, which can get quite boring.

Do you vaccinate your dog or cat regularly? How regularly? Once a year?

It might not be necessary. In fact, the Australian Veterinary Association now advises vaccinations once every three years, but many (most?) vets are ignoring the guidelines.

It’s pretty obvious why. But don’t take my word for it, check it out here:

You might even be harming your lovely pet by thinking you are doing the right thing.

Where would we be without cables for all the new tech gadgets we have?

Well, a lot better off financially!

No other tech product I now is so overpriced!

Make sure you check around online before ever plonking down $20-$30 a cable.

HDMI cables? Some crooks are charging uop to $200.

Just search around online.

Most just don’t perform as well as you can do.

Much of the time they suggest products that are known poor performers because they gain commissions for doing so.

Who else would you employ to do a worse job than you more often than not, and then have to pay a fee for the  privilege?

No-one in their right mind would deliberately pay for a product they can easily get for free. But people do.

The quality difference between tap water and bottled water is – in a great many cities (though not all) – so slight as to be negligible. And, who would think it?, much bottle water actually contains more germs and mineral imbalances than tap.

Just say no.
